Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod Mission Statement
As men, women, and children united in faith and worship by the Word of God, the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod exists to make disciples throughout the world for time and in eternity, using the gospel to win the lost for Christ and to nurture believers for lives of Christian service, all to the glory of God. a
As a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod, Peace Ev. Lutheran Church is committed to the message of God's grace as contained in the Holy Bible.
We believe the Bible is the inspired and inerrant word of God. Therefore we also believe that the Bible is to be our only guide for our faith, our teachings and our practice.
Basic Bible Teachings
In the Bible, God himself explains why there is so much turmoil, pressure and pain in our world. He says, "There is no difference, for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23) Our God also warns us about the eternal consequences of our sin. "The wages of sin is death." (Romans 6:23) No wonder so many are burdened with a guilty conscience or are afraid of what will happen when they die!
Though our situation may seem hopeless, our God has promised the impossible! He has promised to free us from our pain, our pressure, and our guilt. How? Through Jesus Christ, His Son, and our Savior!
Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6) Jesus has opened heaven for us, by living the perfect life we could not and by dying on His cross to pay for all our sins. Jesus did all this, not because we deserved it, but because He loved us! Moved by that same love, Jesus extends this invitation to each one of us: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)
Are you searching for meaning in life? Are you restless? Afraid? Lonely? Fearful about your future or just full of questions? Jesus' peace is what you need. We would like to share that peace with you.
