In the months of October and November, we will focus our attention on a rather simple theme: God’s Word Works!
In October, we will celebrate 2 mission festivals. One will focus on World Missions. The other will focus on Home Missions.
On October 1st, our World Mission Festival, Pastor em. Mark Hannemann will deliver the sermon based on Matthew 28:18-20. “Don’t Wait–Go Now!” He will detail the exciting mission work that is explained on the website, 316NOW.org.
On October 22nd, we’ll focus our attention on Home Missions. Pastor Glenn Schwanke will lead the worship which will carry the simple theme: “Back-yard Ministry.” The sermon will be based on Mark 5:1-20. A brief quarterly voters’ meeting (15 minutes) will follow the service.
“God’s Word Works.” That will also be the basis for our Reformation Celebrations on Sunday, October 29th and also on Sunday, November 5th. Pastor Schwanke will lead the worship on October 29th. A potluck will follow the service.
Pastor Dennis Kleist, planned giving counselor, will be our guest preacher on November 5th. He will also lead a planned giving seminar on that same Sunday, during our Bible Class hour at 9:00 AM.
We pray our members, friends, and students, will take advantage of these worship opportunities and many more, because God’s Word is still “living and active, sharper than any double-edged sword.” (Hebrews 4:12, EHV)
For visitors from out of the area, please remember that we are in the Eastern time zone.
