Through the Apostle Paul, our Lord has given us the following advice when it comes to making our offerings for His work. 1 Corinthians 16:2, “On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income.” Those divinely-inspired words remind us that God wants us to make our offerings regularly. He also wants those offerings to be proportionate to our income.
Making regular offerings is a challenge for many of us in this modern, mobile era. Why? We’re out of town a lot: on business trips, visiting family, and the like. That’s why, for some time now, Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church has been offering an electronic method for giving called “Simply Giving.” Some of our members have been using this, and we thank you!
But now, Peace Evangelical Lutheran church is pleased to announce the expansion of our electronic options for offerings. In addition to the current option, Simply Giving, we now have the capability to support our ministry at Peace via a web based system.
Our new web based giving program is a way for us to follow that advice of St. Paul: planning and making regular offerings to our Lord. What’s more, it offers convenience for you and consistency in free-will offerings for our congregation. It allows you to set up a password protected account, make one time or re-occurring offerings, and view your individual donation history. Contributions can be made from your savings or checking accounts as well as from a credit or debit card. All of this can be done on line, at your convenience.
Simply click on the donate button below. You will be taken to a secure website hosted by Vanco Services LLC. They have built this secure site to look like one of the pages on our www.peacehoughton.org site. But study the page closely, and you’ll see it is “locked” and has been been verified by GeoTrust. Inc.
The first time you do click on the donate button, you will have to set up a password protected profile. Then you will be able to log in at any time to make donations, change a recurring donation plan or view your personal giving history.
Think of this online giving as another tool which you, a Child of God, can use to help make your regular, first-fruit offerings. As you do so, we pray you will also be guided by God’s advice as given by Paul in 2 Corinthians 9:7, “Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
